One of the largest trade centres in Europe - a World Trade Centre – will be built in Lithuania’s capital city Vilnius by 2010. More than EUR 430 million investments are planned. The World Trade Centre’s Association, uniting about 300 world trade centres in 100 countries around the world, made a decision to build a World Trade Centre in Vilnius in 2006. The new centre is expected to be a very effective means for the further expansion of international business between Eastern and Western countries due to the extremely favourable location of the centre. UAB World Trade Center Vilnius (WTC Vilnius), controlled by Danish investors, has been searching for a place for the building. It is planned that the centre will cover an area of 200,000 sq m and will offer a wide range of facilities and services, i.e. conference halls, modern offices, a 300-room hotel, restaurants, a VIP shopping centre, a VIP healthcare centre, VIP apartments, and also a modern international business education centre.
